About Gosport Town Branch

Our branch was formed 28 years ago by just 2 people, a mother and daughter, and now we are part of Cats Protection the UK's leading feline welfare charity.  Our branch started out with a mere £200, a cat trap and one pen financed by a volunteer and situated in their garden.

Most of our work then revolved around trapping and neuturing the colonies of feral cats in the Gosport naval establishments and in the high street area together with taming and rehoming feral kittens.  Over the years we have rehomed in excess of 400 of these kittens.

Today we deal more with the rescuing and rehoming of domestic cats but still neuter and support feral cats as required.

We operate 4 pens at present located in members gardens.  We also operate a comprehensive lost and found register and an assisted neuturing scheme for cats owned by people on a low or fixed income .

We are one of over 260 volunteer run branches covering the UK and although our branch reflects the fact that it was set up to deal with cat issues in central gosport this has always been extended to Fareham where there is currently no Cats Protection branch.

All our volunteers are dedicated to caring for stray and unwanted cats and kittens that come into our care for rehoming.

All enquiries for cats should be made directly to our telephone number at the bottom of the page or by using the contact us form.
If you would like to adopt a cat from us why not have a look at what we have available by visiting out home a cat page where we try and include some images so you can see what they look like.

BradleyCan you give Bradley a home?

Could you give Bradley a home? He is an affection old cat, 14 years old, and requires a home where he can enjoy being made a fuss of and he would suit an adult home. Ready for homing in about two weeks after his vaccinations (19/02/10)
Read more about Bradley and more cats looking for new homes.
